Citizen's Debate: November 8, 2019
Empower the People, in partnership with the Constitutional Rights Foundation, will host a moderated discussion and civil conversation about Gun Violence Prevention.
We are so excited to have Duke Law Professor Jake Charles, the Director of the Duke Firearm Law Center, and North Carolina State Representative Morey, who introduced Red Flag Laws in the NC legislature joining us to explain the different perspectives on the Gun Violence Prevention Debate and the importance of using your voice to create change.
Over 200 youth from the Durham area and around the country will be joining together to discuss the current states of, and various perspectives on Gun Violence Prevention. Students will converse with their peers, professors from surrounding universities, and representatives from local organizations, all working on the ground to make real change around these issues within their community and beyond.
